Cafe Marlyne - 7 Fishmarket Close - 0131 225 3838

Off the Royal Mile - by St. Giles Cathedral - a la carte - Genuine French cooking, informal surroundings with a small terrace - Medium priced.

The Witchery - by the Castle - 0131 225 5613

Tucked under a close next to the castle, atmospheric, and a Edinburgh institution - Expensive (but worth it)

The Tower - by the Scottish Museum - 0131 225 3003

Same owner as the witchery , but sleek and modern. Fantastic views over the city. Expensive at night but lunch cheaper. Pre theatre supper recommended as only a few minutes walk from the festival theatre.

Petit Paris - The Grassmarket - 0131 226 2442

French owned and good value. This is the restaurant most recommend by our guests - Cheap.

The Worlds End Pub - 4 High Street/ Royal Mile - 0131 556 3628.

A Great pub with good food. Cheap

No 1 Balmoral - Balmoral Hotel, 1 Princess Street - 0131 557 6727

Michelin starred and expensive but worth every penny. We recommend Chef's Tasting Menu with a wine per course. Very Expensive.
