A DVD and video has been released featuring highlights of this year's Edinburgh Tattoo.

Released this week, the 90-minute production includes previously unseen footage of performers from Russia's Band of the Moscow Military Conservatoire, New England's Fife and Drum ensemble and a steel orchestra from Trinidad and Tobago.

Traditional classics such as Scotland the Brave and the Skye Boat Song are also included in the DVD, which is on sale at the Tattoo Shop on Market Street for £17.95.

New Tattoo chief executive and producer Major General Euan London said: "This really is the next best thing to having witnessed a performance of this summer's popular production."
