North area of Edinburgh city centre, a 10/ 15 minute stroll from
Princess Street and all the city centre attractions.
The apartment, in a two story Georgian building and is located just
above Mr Purves’s lamp shop in the famous St Stephens Street.
The self
catering apartment is a beautifully renovated
bright flat with tasteful finishing’s yet retaining all the charm
of the Georgian era as well as a cosy living flame fire and working
shutters adding to the many comforts. Even the acclaimed Stockbridge
Restaurant and old classics such as the Antiquary and Baillie are
quite literally on your doorstep.
With prior approval, on arrival your bags can be left in the apartment
after 11.00am. On the day of
departure, your bags can be left in the apartment till 2.00pm.

Typical of Georgian apartments, large twin windows dominate the
square rooms ensuring floods of light and brightness. There is a small dining area to seat four/six overlooking the
bustle of the St Stephen’s market street. Seating is comfortable
and relaxed around cosy living flame fire which glows against the
warm and neutral décor. Rugs and pretty pictures complete a homely
feel. When dark, close the original white working shutters for extra
snugness.
Additional facilities include TV, DVD, CD/radio, Free broad band
internet connection, iron, ironing table, hairdryer and a
travel cot is available on request.

building away from the market street.
Fitted with a double bed. Bedroom 1 has peaceful view over
the rooftops of Stockbridge and to the garden below.
It has wardrobe and shelving and enjoys the evening sun.

and towels are included in the price. Clean linen and towels
are provided. There is an iron and an
ironing board in the flat. There is a foldaway bed and a travel cot can be provided on
request. A high chair and children's plates and cutlery can

The Location of the self catering in Edinburgh Apartment
Stockbridge
Village: The quirky, bohemian, village atmosphere of Stockbridge, just a ten
minute stroll from Princes Street, within the City Centre’s New
Town which forms part of the Edinburgh World Heritage Site is a
great place for shop browsing by day and eating and drinking by
night. Around a maze of cobbled streets it's a marketplace for
antiques and quality gifts, speciality food, many art galleries,
second hand bookshops and vintage boutiques. Along
St Stephen Street itself, you'll find coffee shops, delis, famous
traditional pubs and contemporary wine bars.
Stockbridge village offers the perfect antidote to all the perfect
symmetry and neoclassical grandeur of the New Town, perhaps
explaining why Stockbridge has been home to many artists and writers
over the years, among them the painter Sir Henry Raeburn (1756-1823)
and 19th-century junkie Thomas de Quincey (1785-1859), author of
Confessions of an English Opium Eater. It is a wonderful location to
enjoy the best of both worlds, village living in the city centre. If
a change is needed from the bustle of the city, a 10 minutes walk
north will take you to the beautiful Edinburgh Botanical Gardens.
