This Edinburgh self catering accommodation is located a few yards from the famous Royal Mile/ High street in the heart of Edinburgh's historic old town. The Royal Mile is one of the most famous streets in Scotland. This historic road leads from Edinburgh castle down to the palace of Holyrood and the Scottish parliament. It is next door to most of Edinburgh's attractions and is the perfect location to explore Edinburgh and it's history.

The apartment has a long history and is a listed building of regional importance dating back to the 18th century. It was originally part of the outer walls of the old town next to the Netherbow port (long since gone). This is where Bonnie Prince Charlie entered and captured Edinburgh in 1745. It was also called the world's end by the medieval residents of Edinburgh and the restaurant next door to the apartment still bears that name.

When you step out of the apartment you are surrounded by over 500 years of Edinburgh's and Scotland's history.

With prior approval, on arrival your bags can be left in the apartment after 11.00am. On the day of departure, your bags can be left in the apartment till 2.00pm.

This apartment has high speed broadband internet connection and Wi-Fi supplied free of charge.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor to the on the left of the picture. The street in the foreground is Royal Mile which leads from  Edinburgh Castle to the palace of Holyrood and the Scottish parliament.	John Knox's house which is situated  across the road from the apartment. These buildings date from the 16th century.

Living room 

This self catering Edinburgh apartment has been refurbished to a high standard. The living room  is a stylish room designed  with a Scottish theme. There is leather furniture and tartan curtains. There is a flat screen TV and DVD player.  There are also a foldaway single bed, and a travel cot is available on request at no extra cost.  The apartment is warm and comfortable..

Kitchen

The newly fitted modern kitchen is well equipped, with a wide range of good quality utensils and equipment. It includes a cooker, Oven, washing machine, fridge freezer, and microwave.

Bedroom 1

A double bedroom, with a double bed, is located to the rear of the building with built-in fitted wardrobes and a shelved airing cupboard.

Bedroom 2

A second double bedroom with 2 single beds located at the front of the property.

Bathroom

There is a bathroom which has a bath with an electric shower, a  toilet, and a wash-hand basin.  There are shelves for toiletries. 

Additional

Electricity, linen and towels are included in the price. Clean linen and towels are provided. There is an iron and an ironing board in the flat.  There is a foldaway bed and a travel cot can be provided on request.  A high chair and children's plates and cutlery can be provided on request at no extra cost.

Access to the Apartment

Please note the self catering apartment is located on the 2rd floor . There is no lift and access is from the secure communal stairs.

 Arrival is after 3pm and departure before 10am.

This Royal Mile apartment is located at the top of St Mary's street on the corner of the Royal Mile - in the heart of central Edinburgh. The Royal Mile is the historic road that connects Edinburgh castle to Holyrood Palace. The apartment is situated approximately half way down this road.  It is close to Edinburgh Castle and the new Scottish parliament  building and it is a 5 to 10 minute walk to most of the city centre attractions, including  Princess Street Gardens,  museum, and art galleries. 

When you walk out of the apartment you walk into the heart of historic Edinburgh.

Its central location, within the Edinburgh Old Town, makes this self catering flat an ideal base for exploring the many attractions of Edinburgh and visiting its many pubs, restaurants and theatres.
